About Kay
Welcome!
"Giving expression to creativity is a very rewarding experience for me. I not only have the opportunity to produce something that is beautiful to look at, but I can share something of myself-my personality-in the process. It is that part of me that I put into my work that makes it special and unique.
"I have found that one of the most rewarding and challenging areas of art is portraiture. People continually fascinate me with their unique facial expressions and gestures. I have specialized in portraiture for the last 20 years and I have found that each painting is an exciting adventure."
Kay
Artist ,Kay Witt, has been drawing and painting since she was old enough to hold a pencil. Born in Charleston, SC, Kay attended Clemson University where she met and married her life long love, Steve Witt. Even though Kay has traveled extensively, she is a Southern girl at heart.
Kay has had extensive experience in oils, pastels, and colored pencils. She has concentrated exclusively on watercolors for the past 20 years. In addition to painting people, animals and flowers, Kay also paints murals.
Kay has also had a varied career as an illustrator and graphic artist. She has designed illustrations for book covers, logos, and Christmas cards. Currently, Kay also does web design.
Kay has won many awards and her work hangs in private collections around the country.
Kay currently lives with her husband in Northern Virginia.
